Before Endodontic Treatment

Steps to be taken before the treatment.

Please eat a full breakfast or lunch as applicable.

Continue all medications for blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid problems and any other condition as recommended by your physician.  If there is a question, please call our office prior to your appointment.

If you have been advised by your physician or dentist to use antibiotic premedication because of a joint replacement or heart valve operation please make sure you are on the appropriate antibiotic on the day of your appointment.  If there is a question, please call our office prior to your appointment.

Please refrain from taking pain medications prior to arriving at your appointment.  These medications can mask symptoms and make proper diagnosis more difficult.

This procedure will be performed using local anesthesia.  There are usually no restrictions after the procedure concerning driving or returning to work.  We do want you to wait until the numbness is gone before you eat anything.  You are able to drink liquids right away.

IMPORTANT:  All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at their appointment.
